Egyetemünkre minden félévben sok nemzetközi hallgató érkezik, mi pedig olyan hallgatókat keresünk, akiket érdekel más kultúrák megismerése és mások segítése, miközben nyelvtudásukat is fejlesztenék. A mostani felhívás tehát olyan, a Bölcsészet- és Társadalomtudományi Karon tanuló nemzetközi és magyar hallgatóknak szól, akik a 2024 szeptemberében érkező nemzetközi hallgatók mentorai szeretnének lenni.

A jelentkezésről

Ha 2024 szeptemberében már mentor szeretnél lenni, akkor

jelentkezz most, legkésőbb május 20-ig! 

Kérjük, küldd el motivációs leveledet és önéletrajzodat a internationaloffice.btk@szte.hu címre, és gyere el egy interjúra – így tudjuk megerősíteni a részvételedet a Neptun-rendszerben, amennyiben úgy döntesz, részt kívánsz venni a tanfolyamon: az e félévi képzés és a jövő félévi tényleges mentorálás után ugyanis 4 kredittel jutalmazzuk a segítségedet!

A jelentkezéshez nyelvvizsga nem szükséges, de fontos, hogy magabiztosan tudj kommunikálni angol nyelven szóban és írásban!

A felhívás a BA és MA képzésen részt vevőknek szól, de doktoranduszok is jelentkezhetnek

A kurzust felvenni és azután kreditet kapni csak a BA és MA képzésben részt vevő hallgatók tudnak. Azonban, ha például doktoranduszként így is érdekel a mentorálás és szívesen segítenéd a bejövő külföldi hallgatókat, nyugodtan csatlakozz hozzánk!

A képzés menete

Létrehoztunk egy olyan képzést, amely segít felkészülni a leendő mentorálásra. A képzésre 2024 júniusában kerül sor (a pontos dátumról később, e-mail-ben értesítünk majd). A részvétel kötelező, az órák legfeljebb 20 %-át lehet kihagyni, azt is csak akkor, ha valamilyen okból feltétlenül szükséges.

Tárgyalt témák:

• Interkulturális kommunikáció,
• a kulturális sokk fázisai,
• verbális és nonverbális kommunikáció,
• kapcsolatfelvétel és a kapcsolat fejlesztése,
• feladatok a mentorált tanulmányainak kezdetén,
• tanácsadás, hogyan lehet ott lenni a mentorált mellett,
• tipikus és lehetséges nehézségek,
• megelőzés és beavatkozás,
• a kihívások kezelése,
• a konfliktusok kezelése,
• fordított kulturális sokk
• búcsúzás.

A hallgatóknak a tananyag alapján ötoldalas reflexiót kell írniuk a mentori feladatra való felkészülésükről. A következő félévben a jegyek az órai részvételen és ezen az esszén alapulnak.

Dear Students,

Many international students arrive each semester at our University, and we are looking for students who are interested in getting to know other cultures and helping others while improving their language skills. The aim of this practical training is to help future mentor students prepare for their role. It is thus designed for international and Hungarian students studying at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences wishing to become mentors for the international students arriving in September 2024.

About the application

We have created a training course to help you prepare for your future mentoring.

If you wish to become a mentor in September 2024,

you should apply now by May 20 at the latest.

Please send us your motivation letter and CV to internationaloffice.btk@szte.hu, and come to an interview, otherwise, we cannot confirm your participation in the Neptun system if you want to take the course. After the training this semester and the actual mentoring next semester, we can reward you with 4 credits for your help (only for BA and MA students). Unfortunately, Ph.D. students cannot take this course at Neptun, we cannot offer credit for it, however, if you are interested in mentoring and would like to help incoming foreign students, feel free to join us.

The call is open to BA and MA students, but PhD students can also apply

Only students enrolled in BA and MA courses are eligible to take the course and subsequently receive credit. However, if, for example, you are a PhD student and are still interested in mentoring and would like to help incoming international students, feel free to join us!

About the training

The training will take place in the middle June (exact date will be posted later via email). Attendance is a must, you can only miss 20% of classes if it is absolutely necessary for some reason.

Topics to be covered:

• intercultural communication,
• phases of cultural shock,
• verbal and non-verbal communication,
• getting in touch, and developing the relationship,
• tasks at the beginning of the mentee’s studies,
• peer counselling, how to be there for the mentee,
• typical and possible difficulties,
• prevention and intervention,
• tackling challenges,
• handling conflicts,
• reverse cultural shock
• saying good-bye.

Students are expected to write a five-page reflection on their preparation for the task of mentoring, based on the course materials. Grades for next semester are based on class participation and on this essay.
